How To Obtain All Vital Nutrients From Your Vegetarian Diet

http://essayservices.org/
A human being’s health is greatly influenced by his/her diet. The food items that a human being eats during the course of the day can make a lot of difference. Depending on the culture that a person belongs to or preference, people tend to have different kinds of diets. Some of them are based on beliefs and some are based on health issues. Of late there has been a growing interest in vegetarianism. People who have been eating meat all their lives are slowly turning vegetarian as they believe that that is a very healthy diet and in the meantime feel less guilty than when they ate meat. Vegetarianism is indeed a very healthy option and even though meat eaters argue that it is difficult to get a balanced vegetarian meal, it is possible to plan a balanced vegetarian diet and get all the vital nutrients.

The main argument that meat eaters have against vegetarians is that the protein content in a vegetarian meal is less. That is a misconception. There are a variety of options for vegetarians like beans, lentils, nuts, rice and products that are made from Soya like tofu and tempeh. These are very high in protein content and can be incorporated into one’s diet without compromising on taste or appearance. Every one of the items that have been mentioned above have different textures that makes it exciting as well. Calcium is another important requirement. Vegetarians can get their daily supply of calcium from dairy products like milk and yoghurt. Lactose intolerant people can also opt for breakfast cereals and soy milk. Broccoli, turnip greens, Chinese cabbage and several other green leafy vegetables are rich in calcium content.

Whole vegetables and fruits are also very good options for vegetarians. They are low in calories, high in fibre and full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Vegetables and fruits can not only be used to create a complete diet, they also help to fight deadly diseases. Heart disease, stroke, cancer are some of the diseases that can be prevented by eating fruits and vegetables. The colour of the fruits and vegetables are caused by the content of phytochemicals. These phytochemicals when they enter the human body will act as antioxidants, immune boosters and anti inflammatories.  Opting for a vegetarian diet does not in any way reduce the supply of nutrients to the body. In fact it enhances the body’s immune system and helps it fight diseases and keeps certain deadly ailments at bay.

While eating vegetarian it is very important to concentrate on freshness. While eating seasonal

food items freshness is ensured. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be tasty by themselves and not much effort is required to make the food tasty. It is also possible to get good deals from the supermarket because fruits and vegetables that are in season will always be cheaper. When opting for grains it must be ensured that the grains are whole.

Only whole grains contain the germ and endosperm and they are processed a major part of the nutrients are lost. Eating unprocessed whole grains will help in reducing the risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.

A vegetarian diet can also fulfill the body’s need for iron, zinc and B12. For vegetarians there are food items like spinach, kidney beans, peas, and apricots that have a high content of iron in them. For zinc, there are milk products and pumpkin seeds. Vitamin B12 can be found from milk products and soy based beverages. In addition to all this there is also a daily requirement of fibre. Our diet needs a proper content of fibre. This fibre does not give any nutrition to our body but it enables the digestive system to flush out unwanted waste material. Whole wheat bread, whole wheat couscous are good sources for fibre. While eating fruits like apple and pears, it is advised to eat the skin as well as the skin contains a lot of fibre. So opting for a vegetarian diet does not mean that the diet will be less healthy or less nutritious. Turning vegetarian means that there are an equal number if not more options for healthy food. So don’t hesitate, go green.

Relate Spirituality with Buddhism and Christianity

A believer respects and honors all spirituality:
For a true Believer and Spiritualist, all religions preach the need for mankind to seek God and His forgiveness for our sins on earth, known and unknown.  A true believer is one who has immense and abiding faith in all religions, even outside his own. A true Christian also believes in Buddhism and Christianity, among other faiths, and also in the Gospels preached by Gautama Buddha and Lord Jesus Christ and his devout disciples and followers after him. A true Buddhist would not condemn, or deride Christianity just as a good Christian would not demean Buddhism, or any other religion; if he does so, he is not a true believer but a kafir, or non believer.
Introduction:
In this article, its author proposes to first examine the salient doctrines and teachings of Lord Gautama Buddha (Buddhism)  and also our Lord Jesus Christ ( Christianity) before considering the deeper aspects of spiritual quintessential of both Buddhism and Christianity and how it underpins and buttresses these major ad wonderful faiths, ardently practiced not only in their respective countries of origin, but in different parts of the world, and whose believers are only amassing with each passing day.

Supreme Being versus Supreme State:
As a matter of fact, Buddhism could be traced back to 361 BC when it first began known to exist in teachings of the Buddha to his disciplines. Another aspect about Buddhism, one of the oldest religions known on earth, is that it is indeed different and distinct from other religions. While other religions speak of the Supreme Being, Creator, seen as the Ultimate God, this religion considers the realization of a Supreme State, or Nirvana as of paramount importance. Thus, the essence in Buddhist docrination is not about individuals, or beings, but states of consciousness and spiritual awakening.  Another differentiation about Buddhism is that it attached more emphasis on the doing aspect, rather than on theorism, ritualism and spiritual practices. Other religious are more society bound, while Buddhism is individualistically bound. However, this is not to delude the other religions, since both Buddhism and other religions have the goal of realizing Ultimate Reality, only the paths followed to gain the Ultimate Reality may be different, depending on religious moorings and cultural impacts underlying them.

Christ’s resurrection is a essential part of Christian spirituality:
Coming to the theological aspects of Christianity, it is seen as one in which God, through Jesus Christ, seeks the redemption of sufferings, pains and torment in this world by taking the sufferings of mankind as his own, which leads on to his cruxification. The Resurrection of the Lord, “He is arisen” offers the glimmer of the salvation, redemption and hope for distressed mankind, and well answers the question of whether there is still salvation for tormented and distressed human souls. Indeed the essence of Christian spirituality has much to do with how humans could inculcate and practice the virtues of forgiveness, humility, chastity, altruism and humanistic sentiments to all living beings on Earth, to absorb the evils of others and purge their sins with one’s virtues and goodness.

Eight-Fold Path- essence of Buddhist spirituality:
It is now necessary to consider spiritual aspects of Buddhism which is essentially based on following the Eight –Fold path in terms of complete understanding, or vision, emotional control, control over speech, right and harmless actions, honest and ethical livelihood, due diligence, full awareness and mental consciousness and finally, being totally focused and full of concentrated energies.

Ultimate Spiritual Truths common to both Buddhism and Christianity:
Buddhism, being essentially an empirical religion which dispenses with ritualism and idol worship, considers the self as most important and which constantly needs to seek and fulfill self purification through words, deeds and actions. It is based on the Ultimate Spiritual Truth that this world is full of sufferings and pain, humans would need to first find the roots and causes of their pains, identify what could end human sufferings, and seek freedom and redemption, or salvation from them through earnest and dedicated practice of the Eight fold Path. Christianity advocates abandoning the path of sin for peace, progression and spiritual prosperity.

Indeed, the spiritual teachings of Buddhism and Christianity have much in common.
Both advocate that -
1. Human sins are the cause of pains and sufferings in this material world
2. We need to seek deliverance through prayers, propitiation and surrender to the Lord
3. God, in his ultimate goodness and purity, would forgive our sins if we are truly repentant
4. The true way for redemption is to seek out the Lord and beseech Him
5. Materialistic desires are the main causes for human unhappiness and wants.
6. If we are to gain blessings of God we need to follow the Eight-Fold Path and honor the Ten Commandments.
7. Our happiness is self deterministic and no externalities can be the cause of our own sorrows, pains tribulations and sufferings.
8. We have to seek the truth within ourselves and not from the external world

How to Help Somebody Going Through a Mental Health Crisis?

Foods are important in maintaining our mental health. Some foods elevate or encourage poor mental health while others promote good mental health. In order to help a person that is undergoing through a mental health crisis, they should take foods that promote good mental health. These foods are rich in minerals, vitamins and nutrients that are essential for mental health.

Magnesium is a major mineral that is found in many foods that range from vegetables to fruits. They include nuts, seeds, avocados, bananas, dark leafy greens e.g. kale and spinach. Magnesium plays a major role in mental health as it can be used in place of lithium. This is because they act similar thus can share some receptor sites in the brain. Magnesium helps in treatment of stress and encourages and increases the quality of sleep that is needed by people suffering from bipolar disorder, an example of a mental health crisis. People suffering from a mental health crisis should be encouraged to take foods that are rich in magnesium.

Somebody going through a mental health crisis should avoid some foods that increase or makes them more ill. These foods do not serve any purpose in the body nor the brain. These foods include caffeine that triggers or causes mood swings, manic episodes and induces insomnia by impairing sleep. Caffeine is also addictive and makes its users feel awful and jittery. Sugar is another food to avoid as it induces mood swings due to the highs and lows associated with it. It also damages the nerves that are essential to the central nervous system thus makes its users prone to forget as it interferes with memory formation. Memories and unchanged mood swings are signs that show people have a good mental health. Avoiding caffeine and sugars offers a solution for mental health.

There are remedies that are used to treat people undergoing mental health crisis that include psychotherapy for instance cognitive therapy. Cognitive therapy involves examining relationships between feelings, behavior and thoughts of the patient. The therapist and patient are a team and work together in order to help the patient recover from the mental illness. It is based on distorted thoughts rather than realistic thoughts that lead to the unhealthy emotions that are negative for instance anxiety and depression. During therapy, the patients should be allowed to express how they feel without interrupting.

Another solution to mental health crisis is regularly taking tests that help to determine an individual's mood. These tests are useful as agitation or mood swings in most cases reflect mental health crisis that include anxiety or depression. The symptoms should be present for at least six months in order to determine if somebody to be determined if they are undergoing a mental health crisis. One should first determine his or her symptoms and categories that help in diagnosing his or her own mood. An individual should later complete filling a form that is a diagnostic summary.
